What the caterpillar calls the end, the rest of the world calls a butterfly.

On the final evening of every year, I enjoy creating a special ceremony to celebrate the completion of the old year and the beginning of the new one. At midnight—or as close to midnight as possible—I place my list of mastermind or vision statements from the old year into a small bowl and burn it. I watch as the smoke carries the completed energy of the past year out into the universe and express my gratitude. Then, I hold to my heart my new list of intentions for the coming year and honor the new beginnings that await me.

Completions and New Beginnings
Even though every new year is a time of “out with the old and in with the new,” in 2016 the energy of completions will prevail all the way through the year. The numbers 2016 add up to “9”, and in Lemurian numerology, this represents completions and new beginnings.
Completions will come rapidly—sometime unexpectedly—this coming year with new beginnings right behind them. This will give us abundant opportunities to let go of old thought patterns and worn-out behaviors, to allow new ways to emerge.
With many things in our world, we can already recognize that the old ways are simply not working anymore and a fresh way of doing things would be in order. However, there are often projects, relationships or other journeys in our lives which seem to be complete, yet we may have the feeling, “Oh, if I just added this, or if I could only change that, it would be better.”
Feeling the Completions
So, how do we know when something is complete and it is time to move on? Oftentimes, we are not even given a choice. Relationships end or things just drop out of our lives. Other times, we must trust and make the choice to let go and that can be challenging.
Previously, I was managing a company that published the Kirael books by Kahu Fred Sterling. With many of the projects there was often so much beautiful spiritual wisdom available that it was challenging to know when to stop adding more and finally call the project complete.
So, we asked Master Guide Kirael how we could trust and know that a book was actually complete. What he told us has helped me many times in the years since. He told us to hold the final manuscript to our hearts, take a deep breath, feel it, and listen to our heart’s knowing. In this way, we would know.
Recognizing the completion and trusting the new beginning will be there
So, in this year of completions, should you wonder at some point, "Is it complete? Should I let go and move on to something new?" Sit quietly for a moment, close your eyes and take the project, the relationship or whatever it is, into your heart, breathe and feel its vibration. You may have a vision of something still to be done—a loose-end or something you missed—or you may get a feeling of satisfaction and a knowing that it is compete and that you are ready to move on to the next journey.
When One Door Closes Another Opens
In closing (in completion?) I’d like to share that when I come to a completion in my life, there is something that I like to say to honor where I am at that moment: “I am complete, and I am ready to begin.” In this way, I let go of that which is complete and create a space for new energies to enter, knowing that something even better awaits.
In Love and Lemurian blessings,
Regarding the monthly listing of Celestial Events
I have chosen to focus more on writing projects this year, so I will no longer be providing the day-to-day listing of the celestial events. I will, however, occasionally mention important celestial alignments such as the latest Mercury retrograde beginning on January 5, 2016.
Please see these articles and audio recording for more information and the Mercury retrograde cycle dates.
